Dr. Leila Papoli-Yazdi and Dr. Omran Garazhian are the founders of GARBONOMIX AB.
Dr. Leila Papoli-Yazdi has worked as a garbologist since 2015 and has paved the way for contemporary archaeology in the Middle East. From 2008 to 2011, she was employed as a professor at the University of Neyshabour (Iran). She held a research position at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, for three years. Since 2019, Dr. Papoli-Yazdi has worked in Sweden, first at the University of Gothenburg, later at Malmö University and Linnaeus University. Since 2021, she has been affiliated with the UNESCO chair on Heritage futures. Dr. Papoli-Yazdi has authored or co-authored seven academic books and 36 scientific articles in peer-reviewed international journals, including 'Archaeological Dialogues' and 'International Journal of Historical Archaeology.'
Dr. Omran Garazhian has worked as a field archaeologist since 1997 and has conducted ethnoarchaeological projects in the Middle East since 1999. From 2008 to 2018, he was employed as a professor at the University of Neyshabour (Iran). He has participated as a co-director in several international projects alongside teams from CNRS, France, Sorbonne University, France, and Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. Dr. Omran Garazhian has authored or co-authored six academic books and 45 scientific articles in peer-reviewed international journals, including 'Social Archaeology' and 'Antiquity.'
