Program
How should we think differently about flexible features by the coast? What do other countries do to come up with creative multifunctional and flexible land use? How can we do the same in Kalmar?
Come and talk to us about examples from abroad and in Kalmar, and you are welcome to think differently and write down or sketch your ideas.
Custom areas that may be affected by rising seas and erosion over the next 100-200 years could allow for more flexible land use near the water. Such land can be used for green spaces or parks by the water, and it can include buildings for restaurants, exhibitions, etc. Possible housing in these areas should be flexible so that houses can be easily moved to safer ground. The land could be leased from the municipality or the state, thus eliminating the financial risk for homeowners. The land that has been used for flexible solutions could easily be transformed into marine areas as we slowly move away from the sea step by step.
It's important to think positively, think creatively, and think in reverse!
