Flexmark – think backwards!

How should one think inversely about flexible features along the coast? How do other countries approach creative multifunctional and flexible land use? How can we do the same in Kalmar?

Come and talk to us about examples from abroad and in Kalmar, and you are welcome to think inversely and jot down or sketch your ideas.

Custom areas that may be affected by rising seas and erosion in the next 100-200 years could allow for more flexible use of the land nearest to the water. Such land can be used for green spaces or parks by the water, and it can include buildings for restaurants, exhibitions, etc. Possible residences in these areas should be flexible so that houses can be easily moved to safer ground. The land can, for example, be rented from the municipality or the state; this way, there is no financial risk for the homeowner. The land that has been used for flexible solutions can easily be transformed into marine areas as we slowly step by step move away from the sea.

It’s important to think positively, think creatively, and think in reverse!
