Magni Moss, founder and initiator of the Gässemåla residency. Moss has been active in the international art scene as well as back home in Sweden. In 2014, he established the Sikås Art Center in Jämtland, where they have since conducted residencies, exhibitions, symposia, and other projects with artists from all over the world. The visiting artists have been at the beginning of their careers, and now, several years later, we see how many of them have become significant artists on the international stage with exhibitions at the Venice Biennale, MoMa PS1, Hamburger Bahnhof, Moderna Museet, etc. The art center has been run by a non-profit organization and has received support from Länskulturen Jämtland/Härjedalen, Strömsund Municipality, Konstfrämjandet, the Swedish Arts Council, and Iaspis.
