Program
Symposium at Gässmåla school on the future of smaller self-organized initiatives and how they can be supported and developed.
The Småland Biennale has worked with smaller self-organized spaces and activities where one often has to take on many roles, but also reaches a different audience than traditional institutions. As the Småland Biennale approaches its end, we invite you to a day where we can share experiences and discuss the future of smaller initiatives and how they can be supported and developed.
The day starts with refreshments and a tour of Gässemåla School where Magni Moss, (initiator of Gässemåla AiR), shares insights about the place, the activities, future ambitions, and past experiences. Artist Kate Moss also talks about Landing Thoughts, a post-academic course for artists that has included a workshop at the site.
After lunch, Per Hasselberg from the Association for the Promotion of Art leads a panel discussion with Magni Moss, Kerstin Björk from Kulturvagnen, freelance curator Sara Rossling, David Torstensson from Siggalycke Folk School, and Johanna Linder from Österängens Art Hall.
The symposium is organized by Gässemåla AiR, Småland Biennale, Bild och Form Kronoberg, and the development project ARRK - Art Research Residency.
