Timo Menke is active as an artist, director, and writer, and is based in Stockholm.
His interdisciplinary practice is driven by an interest in dark objects, processes, and methods with the aim of developing a "dark holism" that encompasses its paradoxical complexity. He graduated from Konstfack in 1999, where he also served as a lecturer at the Department of Art from 2004 to 2014. He is represented at Moderna Museet Stockholm, Kalmar Art Museum, Pori Art Museum, and is distributed by Filmform. He regularly writes about Nordic camera-based art for the online magazine VERK.
