Program
Exhibition: The Hut
May 27, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: Österängen Art Hall
The public space is becoming increasingly dense and commercialized. It is often designed for the adult portion of the population. Children are relegated to hardened surfaces and curated playgrounds. Wilderness, the unspoiled nature where one can explore, play, learn, and create on their own – where is it?
Welcome to a guided art walk featuring artistically designed spaces for children. In the project “The Hut,” groups of children from Österängen and Huskvarna have collaborated with four artists and artist groups to create playgrounds that invite spontaneous play. Now, four crafted huts are complete, three at Österängen and the fourth in Huskvarna Folkets Park.
In a brief tour of Österängen, the artists Cathrine Paterson (Lekkontoret), Hillevi Cecilia Högström, Ruben Wätte, and Robin Tidblom will share insights into their artistic practices and the processes that led to the finished spaces.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
The guidance is free of charge. No prior registration is needed.
