Warm welcome to witch school with the artist Kerstin Björk. Both children, adults, witches, and non-magic users are heartily welcome. At the witch school, we will use mugwort as material and guide to create amulets, broomsticks, and other magical things. We will also use embroidery, textiles, sticks, and other natural materials.

This workshop is part of the feminist map in Småland, which is being conducted with the Småland Biennial. This time we will gather in Mia's cottage in Skrämbohult outside Skruv, a cottage built around 1850. Mia lived here without electricity and water until she was 96 years old. Now it is a place for culture.
Kerstin Björk works with embroidery as image and concept, but also with other materials. Nature and environment have a strong presence in Björk's artistry and everyday life. It is about exploring and embodying nature and nature magic, and also about an underlying awareness of the ongoing climate changes.
Rölekan is a common and resilient plant that grows in roadside edges, gardens, and meadows throughout the country. It is one of the most commonly used medicinal herbs, known for its wound-healing and antispasmodic properties. Rölekan is also strongly associated with magic and is linked to protection, courage, and love.
Coffee and pastries will be available. The stove will be lit, but it can be a bit chilly in the cottage, so please bring a sweater and something to sit on!
Accessibility:
The ground around Mia's cottage is a bit uneven. There is a step into the cottage, and then thresholds. An outdoor toilet is located behind the cottage.

Directions:
From Skruv, take the Eastern entrance (the road that passes the glassworks) towards Skrämbohult, after about 2 km turn left (!) at the yellow sign “Gåsamåla N:a” (which points to the right). Continue on the gravel road past several houses. Keep left every time the road splits. After about 700 m, you will arrive at Mia's cottage, which is on the right side. If you come by car, please park thoughtfully and with consideration for nature!
